🏭 QUNDIS — Full Company History

⭐ Origins (1991–2007): SaMeCo → Landis+Gyr → Siemens → QVEDIS

The earliest predecessor was SaMeCo Elektronic GmbH, based in Mühlhausen, Thuringia.

SaMeCo was later acquired by Landis & Gyr, and subsequently by Siemens, forming the metering division that became QVEDIS GmbH in 2007.

⭐ 2008–2009: Merger Creates QUNDIS GmbH

In 2008, QVEDIS merged with KUNDO SystemTechnik GmbH (St. Georgen, Black Forest).

In 2009, the merged entity adopted the new name QUNDIS GmbH.

This marks the official founding year used in corporate profiles.

⭐ 2013: Consolidation in Erfurt

QUNDIS combined its Mühlhausen and St. Georgen operations into a single headquarters and production site in Erfurt, at the Thuringian Freight Hub.

Research, development, production, sales, marketing, and administration were unified under one roof.

This is when QUNDIS became a fully centralised German manufacturing operation.

⭐ 2017: Acquisition by KALORIMETA (kalo.de)

QUNDIS was acquired by KALORIMETA AG & Co. KG (KALO) on 26 April 2017.

⭐2020s: Present‑Day Position

QUNDIS today is:

A major European supplier of heat meters, heat‑cost allocators, water meters, and sub‑metering communication systems.

Active in 30+ countries, with millions of devices installed.

Operating exclusively from Erfurt, with all products carrying the “Made in Germany” designation.

- Electronic water‑meter modules — radio, OMS, walk‑by

- Heat meters — ultrasonic & impeller

- Heat‑cost allocators — radiator‑mounted

- Sub‑metering communication systems — wireless OMS networks

- Mechanical water meters (OEM‑based) — assembled & certified in Germany
