Master Meter began as a company called Aqua Utilities in the early 1970s.

Its role was to act as an exclusive distributor of advanced water‑measurement technologies originating from Arad Israel — already a global leader in water‑resource management.

In 1980, Aqua Utilities officially became Master Meter, Inc., establishing its headquarters in Longview, Texas.

During this period, Master Meter began expanding beyond distribution into:

- sub‑metering

- commercial metering

- early electronic registers ⭐ Expansion & Manufacturing Growth (1990s)

By 1990, Master Meter had become a significant player in the U.S. water‑measurement and sub‑metering market.

This era saw:

- development of proprietary meter designs

Throughout the 2000s, Master Meter experienced double‑digit annual growth.

Corporate headquarters were consolidated into the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, reflecting its expansion across all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico.

Master Meter became known for:

- AMR/AMI systems

Master Meter was acquired and wholly owned subsidiary of the Arad Group, a global water‑technology leader based in Israel.
