Cicasa

🟦 Origins (1953–1963)

CICASA began in 1953 as a small importer of Delaunet water meters.

Its first major milestone was winning a 10,500‑unit tender, which established it as a serious supplier in Mexico’s growing municipal water sector.

Focused on municipal supply contracts and operated as a trading company, not yet a manufacturer.

🟩 Industrial Expansion (1963–1980s)

In 1963, CICASA opened its first full manufacturing plant in Mexico City.

This made CICASA the first true water‑meter manufacturer in Mexico.

During the 1970s–80s, the Mexican federal government invested in domestic metering capacity, and CICASA expanded into:

- Single‑jet meters

- Multi‑jet meters

- Woltmann bulk meters

🟧 Technological Modernisation (1987–2000s)

In 1987, CICASA became 100% Mexican‑owned with R&D for new metering technologies.

Major innovation

1995 — CICASA launches the first Mexican magnetic‑transmission meter (MMD‑15)

This meter supported pulse output, enabling early electronic reading systems.

By the 2000s, CICASA had deployed RF remote‑reading systems, Inductive “touch” readers and AMR/AMI pilot networks in major cities (e.g., Guadalajara, Mexico City).

🟥 Integration into the Arad Group (2014–2019)

In 2014, the Israeli Arad Group acquired a partial stake.

In 2019, Arad acquired 100% of CICASA, transforming it into Arad’s Latin‑American manufacturing hub.

And as a distribution center for Sonata and Octave ultrasonic meters and regional service and calibration center.
