The Decker  Collection — Historic German Water Meters (1880 – 1970s)

The  Decker  Collection, based in Germany, represents one of the most comprehensive private collections of historic German and Austrian Water Meters ever assembled. The collection includes meters from the late  19th century to the post‑war industrial era. Many are meticulously restored meters from manufacturers such as Wehrle,  Wiebe,  Körting,  Andrae,  Scharff,  Bobb & Reuther,  Dreyer Rosenkranz & Droop, and many lesser‑known regional makers.

Beyond its visual scale, the collection’s scholarly value is immense: the collection has clarified lineage, production dates, and mechanical variations among obscure German firms, providing vital reference data for the Historic Water Meter Museum and for curators and historians worldwide. His restoration work—combining precision machining with archival documentation—has revived forgotten craftsmanship and established a benchmark for authenticity in European metering heritage.
